Heart of the City Restaurant Month menus are now out and look absolutely delicious. Celebrate with some incredible deals from Auckland city centre’s top restaurants this August.

There will be 80+ menus on offer across three price points; $25, $40 and $55+, allowing plenty of reasons to celebrate whatever the occasion. The best $55 Menus this Restaurant Month

Culprit | $55 for a four-course dinner

Culprit will take your taste buds on a glamourous journey. For $55, you can tuck into a dinner that includes Wapiti Venison Tartare with beetroot, horseradish, raisin & capers, Jelly Jet Planes flavoured with Elderflower & Vermouth & blackberry sherbet and succulent sharing plates. The menu can be paired with drink recommendations or an “epic” kaimoana platter.

Vivace Restaurant | $85 for a four-course dinner & wine tasting

For over 20 years, Vivace has made a name for itself for its lively ambience and luscious Mediterranean fare. This Restaurant Month, they’re offering two hearty set-menu options. Think duck terrine with onion relish & toast, charcoal ravioli with beetroot, goats’ cheese & oregano and tiramisu all paired with the perfect wine matches throughout.

Ahi | $55 for a snack tasting menu & a glass of bubbles, available for lunch and dinner

Since opening its doors in 2020, Ahi – headed by celebrity chef Ben Bayly has won a swag of awards. It has a reputation for artfully plated food that celebrates the very best of NZ produce, tempered with relaxed, quintessentially Kiwi table service. This Restaurant Month, get a “Taste of Ahi” featuring two Te Matuku Oysters, Wallaby Tartare, and their famous Scampi corn dog – washed down with a glass of Nautilus Cuvee Marlborough NV.

Hugo’s Bistro | $70 for a five-course dinner

This small but perfectly formed bistro has long been renowned amongst chefs and critics alike for its reinvention of French classics that showcase prime local produce and wine. You’ll be able to see what all the fuss is about over a five-course dinner this Restaurant Month – duck liver and truffle parfait, ricotta gnocchi, and olive oil and sea salt semifreddo are but a few of the dishes on offer.

Gochu | $75 6 course lunch or dinner

Meaning chilli pepper in Korean, Gochu brings casual Korean food with big flavours to the table. A trip to this Commercial Bay eatery will bring you a whole new, New Zealand Korean experience like no other. Pulling out all the stops this August, Gochu is offering a 6 course meal, starting with an amuse-bouche and onto the likes of cured kingfish, spiced lamb chops, charred chicken and more. 

Soul Bar & Bistro | $65 three course lunch or dinner

Soul, a tried and true dining destination for many Aucklanders, is adored for a reason. The stunning views, irresistible food and hand-crafted cocktails are hard to go past. No matter the occasion, Soul Bar has you covered this August – indulge in three courses and enjoy the likes of Trevally crudo, beef short rib ragu and pineapple cake, to name a few.

Feriza’s | $65 three course lunch or dinner

Bringing charm and unique flavours to the waterfront, Feriza’s has all the makings for a special night out. Taking Turkish cuisine to the next level, their menu reflects a diverse range of traditional and contemporary dishes. This Restaurant Month, you’ll be treated to a three course meal, where choosing what dish to get will be the hardest part – think calamari, stuffed capsicums and deep fried doughnuts.

Burger Burger | $40 two-course lunch or dinner + glass of lager

Burger Burger serves up fuss-free burgers made from quality ingredients. Take your pick from any BB burger with a Sawmill Larger and your choice of potato skins or charred broccoli. Round it off with mini cinnamon doughnuts topped with salted caramel sauce andcream.

East. | $40 two-course dinner plus glass of wine

This Restaurant Month, East is offering a concise edit of two flavourful dishes. Enjoy a taste of their shiitake mushrooms with peppers and Thai holy basil before revelling in a bowl of nasi goreng fried rice. Wash this delightful duo down with a glass of Hunky Dory Sauvignon Blanc.

Beast & Butterflies I $40 for a two-course dinner and a bite to start

Vietnamese prawn crackers and sambal chilli dip will offer a small taste of what to expect with this menu – classic flavours and artfully arranged plates. You’ll then pick an entree of cauliflower popcorn, bang bang chicken salad or Kingfish ceviche before rounding off the night with your choice of grilled Trevally fillet or braised beef short rib for your main.

Miss Clawdy | $40 for a two-course lunch or dinner

Southern-style American cuisine is unabashedly carby and seasoned to perfection – the very definition of comfort food. Enjoy a choice of either Southern poutine, jambalaya, or Miss Clawdy’s famous fried chicken, followed by a New York baked cheesecake or key lime pie.

The Lula Inn | $40 for a three-course dinner

Known for its playful Kiwi menu made with premium local produce, this menu is bursting with so many luscious options. Pick between the house-made kumara focaccia, Ika Mata, or the fry bread with shredded brisket for a starter, the ‘not a fish pie’ or homemade gnocchi for a main and finish with a caramelised afghan chocolate pot for dessert.

Kimchi Project | $40 sharing-style dinner

This hidden gem does not disappoint when it comes to Asian-infused cuisine. Grab a friend (or a group) to indulge in this sharing-style menu, which includes Korean beef short ribs, grilled gochujang chicken, tiger prawns, Korean BBQ pork, waffle-cut fries and more. 

Chawlas Indian Restaurant | $40 three-course dinner & glass of wine

Warm up with a three course dinner beginning with either onion bhaji, chicken Afghani tikka or lamb seekh kebab. For your main, choose between the butter chicken, palak paneer or lamb rogan josh and finish the experience with either a mango kulfi or gulab jamun, otherwise known as ‘Indian doughnuts’. A drink match of either Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay is included.

The Conservatory | $40 for a two-course lunch or dinner and glass of wine 

With a comfortable atmosphere and great places to lounge, drink and dine, The Conservatory is an excellent place for a relaxed meal. Enjoy two courses, beginning with bread and dips to share, and onto the main course of either Guinness beef cheeks, fish of the day or vegan dumplings in broth. The included drink match is a Wild Rock Merlot Blend or Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc.

Bao Baby Bao | $25 for a two-course dinner

This Elliott Stables staple is heroing succulent, free-range chicken in this dinner deal. Featuring an entrée of crispy Korean fried chicken wings and a main of bang bang chicken salad or the angry bird bao, this is richly flavoured Asian fusion food that won’t break the bank.

Smash Bros. | $25 for a two-course dinner. Includes a soft drink

While there’s a place for outrageous burger combinations, it’s hard to beat a classic combo done well – and Smash Bros., well, smashes it with this deal. $25 will get you an entrée of poutine, followed by their original cheeseburger, topped with dill pickle and smash sauce – and you can grab a soft drink of your choice too.

Ceviche Bar by Besos Latinos | $25 for a Latin American sharing platter & glass of beer

From the hand-made plates the food is served on to the fresh ceviche prepared by chef Luis Cabrera (who has cooked for Barack Obama) everything at Besos Latinos is an authentic celebration of Latin American cuisine. $25 will get you (and a friend) a lush sharing platter
that includes Mexican-style steak, chicken tenders, grilled cheese, spicy chorizo, red salsa, refried beans and corn tortillas with a beer on the side. Dinner only.

Japanese Bistro Zen | $25 for a two course lunch

Japanese Bistro Zen serves up immaculately presented and delicious tasting Japanese foods from its prime position near Auckland's waterfront. Gusto at the Grand | $25 for a two course dinner

Rustic and true to Italian values, Gusto at the Grand showcases simple food, classic flavours and fresh seasonal ingredients. This Restaurant Month, enjoy calamari entrée to begin, followed by Bucatini all’Amatriciana – a traditional Italian pasta sauce based on guanciale, pecorino romano cheese and tomato.
