How to win the ‘green premium’ – NZTE and friends launch webinar series

by | Feb 2, 2023 | News

Simon Coley of Karma Drinks,  Florence Van Dyke (Chia Sisters, NZTE) and Patsy Bass (Reefton Distilling) will feature in a new webinar series launching this month. Winning the Green Premium explores how Kiwi food brands are turning their sustainability credentials into premium prices, here and overseas.

The webinar series is a joint venture between NZTE and The Value Project, a platform funded by Our Land Water. The series will build on the breakthrough work of Professors Paul Dalziel and Caroline Saunders into the role that value chains play in creating premium returns for growers, farmers and producers of New Zealand food and fibre products.
“Consumers are demanding ever-greater sustainability. That comes with a financial cost. How can producers earn more to cover these new costs?” asks Dalziel. “By establishing strong value chains – that is, by working closely with suppliers, communities, retailers and consumers – these brands can generate greater value and then re-invest that premium in ever-more sustainable production.”

Plain speaking and practical, this series is for entrepreneurs, owners and executives of businesses specialising in sustainable production of food and fibre products. Each episode includes representatives from large and SME businesses plus an expert in the field.
