Locally grown, fresh strawberries in winter sound too good to be true, but, as Stuff reports, Matthew Keltie, an indoor vertical strawberry farm owner from Foxton, says he has the solution.

Congratulations to Andrea Martinisi who has won New Zealand Sommelier of the Year, for the second time. Originally trained an electrician in Italy, Martinisi moved to the UK and later ended up as a sommelier at Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck and Head Sommelier at Hotel Terravina, owned by the legendary Gerard Bassett MW, MS in New Forest, eventually coming to New Zealand where he is currently beverage director at The Grove and Baduzzi restaurants.

Congratulations also to Kristen Tay who won the New Zealand Junior Sommelier of the Year. Tay is new to hospitality and also works under Martinisi’s guidance at The Grove. Read more here
