The new most offensive “c-word” in the English language, COVID-19, has left a lot of uncertainty in the air, however we can all agree to replace it with a better “c-word”, community.

We’ve almost done it New Zealand, Level 3 is here and there’s no better time to champion independent businesses in our local communities. Supporting your fav foodie spots is a good place to start!

here are delivery and takeaway options left, right and centre and plenty of lit food to go around. So put down the HazMat, keep calm and order online. Here’s where to call in Central Otago.

Akarua Wines & Kitchen By Artisan

ARROWTOWN

To say we’re excited about Akarua’s new takeaway menu is an understatement. The kitchen is producing a weekly “at home” menu and wine specials (double yes!). This week’s slow cooked lamb shoulder, beetroot miso glazed salmon and vegetarian baked mousakka have us salivating already. Pre-order by phone or online for pick-up between 12-6:30pm and don’t forget to make the most of the wine specials to wash it all down.

Amisfield

LAKE HAYES

2019 Cuisine Chef of the Year, and Executive Chef at Amisfield, Vaughan Mabee is bringing the taste of Central Otago to your doorstep with the new Amisfield at Home menu. The menu includes delicious family style dishes like Manuka Smoked Bluff Blue Cod Pie and Glencoe Lamb Quarter, using only the best local and seasonal produce. Order online for pick-up or delivery ($20 in the Wakatipu Basin) seven days a week.

Armando’s Kitchen

CROMWELL

If you feel like loading up on delicious carby-goodness, but the pasta aisle of your local grocery store has been stripped bare, Armando’s Kitchen in Cromwell is here to help. The team is locally delivering your favourite Italian fare, from freshly baked ciabatta bread, to homemade gnocchi, a delicious new pasta every day and pizzas. Open 5:30-8:00pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday for home delivery and pick-up.
